For the exhibition 'Stupid as a Painter' at the Jan van Eyck Academie.
2015, edition
An interpretation of the book 'Het Groot Schilderboek' by Gerard de Lairesse, in which he explores the theoretical nature of painting, took the shape of 5 RISO A3+ prints collected in an envelope. Its table of contents full of critical references to his contemporaries was combined with manipulated reproductions of his etchings. The images show a virtual space, akin to what we now see in 3D model and image editing software, where shadows, figures, objects interact as models for painting.
